Pour something cold and pull up a chair. Here’s the newest news on “Guest House.”

The blogger promo campaign launched March 3, and 38 bloggers have already requested a copy of “Guest House” for review. Book giveaways are posted at the following sites: At Home With Books, Look at My Books, and Bestsellersworld.com. One reader said she was seeing “Guest House” everywhere online. Let’s hope that is the everlivin’ truth.

My guest blog “Tangled Web—The 'Guest House' John Prine Connection” is posted on Bestsellersworld.com right now. (I confess—I sent a book and a copy of my guest blog to John Prine. My first fan letter!) A guest blog about the crystallizing moment when “Guest House” all came together is coming soon to The Cajun Book Lady. Please visit and support these sites!

Five books went to lucky GoodReads readers. Over 1,000 readers signed up for that giveaway! It’s a great site for book enthusiasts. Check out the reviews so far.

March 16 ended the offer of free review copies of “Guest House” on my website. I mailed out 15 copies to reviewers from the two-week offer. On closing day, my site received 134 hits. Visits are up. Now if those were 134 book sales, you’d have heard a shout of joy wherever you are.

I’ve started mapping where “Guest House” is being read: 27 states plus England, Nicaragua, Quebec and India. Please check the map and let me know if I have missed your state. I'll add a red pin. There's a contact form right below the map to make it easy. The goal is all fifty states and possibly the moon.

Reviews on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Powell’s Books, Booksamillion and Borders have been so encouraging. Thanks to any of you who’ve posted a review. I now know reviews do not sell books. People sell books by talking to friends. Please tell anyone who will listen that you have a great book to recommend. I still need help reaching librarians, book clubs, NPR folk and movie moguls. Independent movie moguls are preferred... they do not have to be handsome or single.

And lastly, I gave my first public reading to the high school creative writing class at Walden School of Liberal Arts in Orem. We had a blast. These are tender-hearted individualists who made my week shine.

P.S. This week will shine from the visit of my cover designer, Jeff Fuller. See "Leaf Heart" blog (January 18th) for the backstory. Yes, Carolyn, you won the bet and we owe you 5 dollars.
