When you least expect it, your 92-year-old mother goes into a party store and has a ball. You help tame your best friend's foe by loving the anger out of her. Your dog and cat do not die after being banished from the bedroom so you can actually breathe, roll over and sleep at night—they sleep, too. And Egypt and Tunisia pull off bloodless coups using social media.

Radical surprises for the better are reality.

Ha Ha! I wish I had a pair of those glasses to wear in to D.C. at night. I once read a bumper sticker on an old Chevy truck; "Never too old to have a happy childhood!"
